He Ran His Platform on White Christian Nationalism

As I sit and ponder how Donald Trump got elected it all comes to me so much more clearly. He was elected because racism is still very deeply rooted into the beings of White Americans. He ran his campaign on White Nationalism or White Supremacy under the guise of “Christianity” or actually Christian Nationalism. He ran his campaign on the slogan “Make America Great Again” and too many Christian Nationalist this means to return America to a Christian nation. Well the truth is America was never a Christian nation. Our Bill of Rights Amendment I states “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people to peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances”. This gives everyone the right to practice the religion that they see fit. The founders came to America for religious and political freedom. The Republican Party and the Christian Nationalist are going against the very belief of what it means to be American. There was always supposed to be separation of church and state. Why did Oklahoma try to get Bibles into public schools? If we are introducing Bibles into public schools then we also need to include every other religion. Many of the policies being put into place are all Christian Nationalist policies. If you believe that America should return to its “Christian values” then you are a Christian Nationalist.
White nationalism is fundamentally incompatible with true Christianity. Christianity, at its core, teaches love, humility, and the equal worth of all people before God. White nationalism, on the other hand, is rooted in racial superiority, exclusion, and often hatred—values that directly contradict the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Here’s why white nationalism is not true Christianity:
1. Christianity Teaches the Equality of All People
• The Bible is clear that all humans are made in God’s image (Genesis 1:27), and there is no racial hierarchy in God’s kingdom.
• Galatians 3:28 says: “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” This directly opposes any ideology that promotes racial superiority.
2. Christianity Commands Love, Not Hate
• Jesus taught, “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Mark 12:31), and even extended this to loving enemies (Matthew 5:44).
• White nationalism often breeds division, resentment, and hostility, which contradicts Christ’s command to love and serve others.
3. Christianity Welcomes All Nations and Peoples
• Jesus commissioned his followers to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19), showing that the gospel is for everyone, not just one race or group.
• In Revelation 7:9, heaven is described as filled with “a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people, and language.”
4. Christianity Condemns Pride and Arrogance
• White nationalism is based on racial pride and superiority, but the Bible warns, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble” (James 4:6).
• Christianity teaches that salvation is through grace, not race, and that boasting in anything but Christ is misguided (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Ultimately, white nationalism is a distortion of Christianity, using selective or twisted interpretations of Scripture to justify an unbiblical ideology. True Christianity is about faith, humility, and love that transcends race and nationality.
The million dollar question will be how do we fix this?
